Job Duties
Crop harvest: 

 Develop and execute a vintage plan for each of our varietals and wines;

 Develop and manage a budget for the winery and vineyard activities

 Recruit and manage a team for all winery operations

 Developing relationships with grapes growers and source grapes from growers to suit the wineries productions requirements

 Looking after the following winemaking activities: crush, pressing, fermentation, barreling, racking, fining, filtration, bottling, laboratory analyses, purchasing, sanitizing, etc.

 Manage and control the quality of our wines throughout the process

 In conjunction with the assistant vineyard manager, develop a vineyard plan including allocating blocks to certain wines, developing plans for each block for pruning, thinning, harvesting, nutrient management, pest management, spraying and mowing

 Continue the training and education of the assistant vineyard manager towards becoming a fully trained and independent grape grower

 Contribute to the development of wine quality standards and stylistic strategies  Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial regulations (VOA Standards, Excise taxation, WorkSafeBC regulations etc)

 Represent the winery at promotional activities, attending events and venues to showcase the wines and to provide support to the marketing and sales teams and other winemaking, Public Relations or industry related duties as assigned.

Job Description: 


 Bachelor’s degree in Oenology and Viticulture

 Several years of experience in winemaking and viticulture

 English is the language at the workplace

Wage and benefits

 CAD 85 000 per annum

 a compensation of $25/month for the business use of your private vehicle for all travel within the Lillooet area.

 $0.50/km compensation for business use of a private vehicle, if travelling for Fort Berens, based on the shortest route to travel to the destination, unless otherwise approved by the management;

 $35 /day compensation for meals if travelling for Fort Berens, unless meals are paid for by Fort Berens or other parties  the costs of staying in a hotel if travelling for Fort Berens, based on an economy rate

 a 15% discount on purchases of wine from the Tasting Room

 a contribution of $150/month towards the Employer's extended medical and dental health plan;

 a monthly wine allowance of 12 bottles
