Witdouck Farms is a multi-faceted business involved in various sectors of the agriculture industry. We specialize in producing high quality grain seed such as wheat, barley, and hybrid fall rye. We also produce hybrid seed canola and seed alfalfa which is pollinated by our own leafcutter bees. We are also proud of our most recent venture into the potato business and are looking forward to what the future may hold. Witdouck Farms is located 30 minutes north of Lethbridge, Alberta near Iron Springs - in the centre of irrigation country and feedlot alley.

Job Duties
Duties: 

Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Organize and record scheduled maintenance on equipment including
    • trucks, trailers, tractors, forklifts, small engines, mowers, implements, generators, leafcutter stripping lines, strapping machines, air compressors, dust collector, dehumidifier and mechanical refrigerator units (reefers.)
  • Organize and identify equipment by a reference number and year purchased on all equipment.
  • Coordinate warranty and recalls
  • Maintain shop and shop tools, cleanliness, and organization

Projects, Parts and Inventory:

  • Provide cost estimates scenarios on specific projects
  • Regularly quote parts and supplies we use.
  • Manage and maintain inventory on parts and supplies including tires.
  • Metal fabrication and welding.
  • Successfully diagnose and quickly identify automotive problems
  • Report and advise on tool requirements, equipment repair scenarios and recommend replacement on equipment when requirered.

Record Keeping:

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (word and excel)
  • Comfortable using a scanning tool.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in a mechanical position.
  • Outstanding mechanical and automatic electrical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize important projects and develop scheduled processes.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including teamwork and communication.

Hours of work:

  • 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.  Additional hours will be required to meet project or business needs.  Shifts do vary depending on season and may include days, afternoons and/or Saturdays.
