Farm Mechanic Position

Job Description:

Job description Kolk Farms is actively seeking to add a Heavy Duty Mechanic to our Feedlot and Grain farming operation in Southern Alberta.

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or have an open work permit.

Responsibilities:

-work with shop manager to coordinate service schedules and prioritize repairs

-perform scheduled service and maintenance on remote equipment (generators/gearboxes/hydraulic systems)

-perform repairs and maintenance on construction equipment/ agricultural tractors / highway trucks / light vehicles and trailers

-perform diagnostics on electrical and hydraulic systems

-develop cost estimates, quote parts, and help manage inventories of critical parts

Qualifications:

-willingness to learn new skills and develop existing ones

-electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills

-great communication skills and willing to work in a team scenario

-ability to prioritize in a busy work environment

-Class 3 or 1 an asset

-contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment

Wages: competitive, negotiable on experience

Farm experience/Must have excellent mechanical skills and aptitude.
