Job Description:
Key Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Inspect, operate, and maintain pivot irrigation systems to ensure proper functionality and water coverage.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of pivot systems.
- Monitor water usage and adjust irrigation schedules to meet crop requirements and equipment activities during the growing season
- Replace or repair worn parts, such as nozzles, pipes, gearboxes, and electrical components.
- Collaborate with the farm manager to coordinate irrigation schedules and adjust to weather or crop needs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and irrigation schedules.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns or emergencies to minimize downtime.
- Assist in planning and implementing upgrades or new installations of irrigation systems.
- Support maintenance and harvest operations as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Class 5 driver’s license
- Proven experience with pivot irrigation systems in an agricultural setting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical trouble shooting skills.
- Fabricating/ welding skills is an asset.
