Duties:
Jobduties : Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver resource management extension programming to increase awareness, understanding and implementation of sustainable agricultural practices.
• Promote self-assessment tools and assist producers with and uptake of Provincial and Federal environmental stewardship initiatives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with producers, government, and non-government agencies.
• Identify and secure funding for stewardship projects.
• Support the Agricultural Fieldman and Assistant Agricultural Fieldman in the administration and enforcement of the Alberta Weed Control Act, Soil Conservation Act and Agricultural Pest Act.
• Provide administrative support to the Agricultural Fieldman.
Education : Qualifications:
• Degree or Diploma in Environmental or Agricultural Sciences
• An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license, satisfactory drivers abstract required.
• Criminal record check required.
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency of Office 365 Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience with ArcGIS and mapping an asset.
• Accurate and detailed, record keeping skills.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, strong work ethic and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within deadlines.
• Knowledge of Ranching and Agricultural best management practices, agricultural background an asset.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg.
