Equipment & General Farm position

Job Description:

BH Farms Ltd. is a mixed irrigated crop farm located 20 minutes north of Lethbridge. Our diverse farming operation is expanding! We grow a variety of irrigated crops including sugar beets, seed canola, corn, cereal crops and potatoes in 2025. We are currently looking for an individual with farm experience and a good work ethic. The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Operating Farm Equipment

• Field preparation, seeding, spraying, swathing, combining
• Hauling grain, fertilizer, sugar beets
• Operating forklifts and front-end loaders

Equipment Maintenance and Service

• Conduct basic maintenance on farm equipment including changing oil, lubricating, part replacement
• Assist with or conduct basic maintenance and repairs on irrigation equipment
• Pressure washing equipment

Operating Irrigation Equipment

• Starting, stopping, and monitoring irrigation
• Moving wheels lines

Qualifications

The right candidate must possess the following:

• At least a high school diploma
• Be able to speak, read and write English
• Be mechanically inclined and experience with maintaining and servicing heavy-duty equipment.
• Be willing to work longer hours during planting and harvest
• A clean drivers abstract

Preference would be given to candidates with:

• Previous farming experience – particularly in irrigated row-crop farm production
• Experience working with irrigation equipment
• Experience operating GPS equipment
• Welding and/or mechanical experience
• Demonstration of good math and organizational skills
• Possess or willingness to acquire a valid Class 3 license
