Full time position available on our Dairy Operation & Farm.
Job Description:
Introduction: We are currently looking for an ambitious, full time Dairy Farm Labourer to help look after a 230-head purebred Holstein dairy herd and additional young stock. Experience in working with dairy cattle is an asset, but not a requirement. The job will include a variety of barn and other farm duties. Applicant must be flexible in work duties and have good ability to work on own. Must have good English and math skills, computer knowledge is an asset. Applicant must also be willing to operate heavy duty machinery, including large trucks, loaders, and tractors. As our farm operates 7 days a week, applicant must be reliable and able to work weekends/overtime when needed. Additional job benefits will be offered after a probationary period.
Job duties:
- Feed calves
- Feed dairy cows and young stock
- Ensure that cows are fed the correct amount and type of feed
- Assist with cattle vaccinations and transfers
- Help with farm/field/harvest work during crop season
- Fetch cows and maintain stalls/crossovers in dairy barn
- Maintain equipment
